Short version: We collect only what's needed to run FACEIT Scout. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and you can delete your account any time.
What We Collect
When you sign in through Steam, we receive and store:
Your Steam ID (64-bit), username, and avatar URL
Your FACEIT nickname and player ID (fetched via FACEIT API at login)
Session tokens to keep you logged in
When you use the scanner, we store:
Scan results for Pro/Coach users (scan history feature)
Saved rosters you create manually
Aggregate scan counts for rate limiting
We also cache FACEIT match data in Redis (90-day TTL) to speed up repeat scans. This cache is keyed by player ID and map — no personal information is stored in cache entries.
What We Don't Collect
Passwords — Steam handles authentication entirely
Email addresses
Location or IP address logs
Browsing behavior or analytics beyond scan counts
Payment card details — Stripe handles all billing
Third-Party Services
FACEIT Scout integrates with the following external services:
Steam OpenID — authentication only. Steam's privacy policy applies to the auth flow.
FACEIT API — match history and player data fetched on-demand. No data is shared back to FACEIT beyond normal API usage.
Leetify API — player performance ratings fetched on-demand. Subject to Leetify's terms.
Stripe — handles all payment processing for Pro and Coach subscriptions. We store only your Stripe customer ID; card details never touch our servers.
Anthropic Claude — AI intel reports are generated by sending anonymized match statistics (no personal identifiers) to Anthropic's API.
Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active
Scan history is retained until you delete it or your account
Match data cache expires automatically after 90 days
Sessions expire after inactivity
Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Right to deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data
Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
Right to object — object to processing of your personal data
Right to portability — request your data in a portable format
Deleting your account removes your profile, saved rosters, scan history, and all session data from our servers immediately. Stripe subscription and billing records are subject to Stripe's own retention policies and financial regulations.
To exercise any of these rights, use the delete account button in the app, or contact us directly. We will respond within 30 days.

Chrome Extension
The FACEIT Scout Chrome extension operates as follows:
It reads your existing scout_token session cookie from faceitscout.com to authenticate API requests. No new cookies are created.
It detects FACEIT match room URLs (faceit.com/*/cs2/room/*) to trigger the sidebar. No browsing history is collected or stored.
It stores a single user preference (auto-scan on/off) in local extension storage.
All data processing happens on our server via the same API used by the website. No additional data is collected by the extension beyond what the website collects.
The extension does not inject, execute, or load any remote code. All JavaScript runs locally within the extension.
Cookies
FACEIT Scout uses a single session cookie (scout_token) which is strictly necessary to keep you logged in. It is an HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None cookie and cannot be read by JavaScript. We do not use any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.
Because we use only a strictly necessary session cookie, no cookie consent banner is required under GDPR. If you log out, the cookie is deleted. If you delete your account, all sessions are removed from our servers.
Security
Data is stored on a private server. Sessions are secured with signed cookies. We don't expose your Steam ID or personal data in any public-facing API endpoints.
Contact & Data Requests
For privacy questions, data access requests, or deletion requests that cannot be completed through the in-app button, contact us via the FACEIT Scout Discord or through the FACEIT platform. We will respond within 30 days as required under GDPR.
